Orquestra Chardonnay

Image
Name: Orquestra Chardonnay Variety: Chardonnay Country and Region: Castilla, Spain Year: 2019 Winery Revie w: Pale yellow with touches of gold. Intense aromas of apple, peach, fennel and tropical fruits on the nose. A fresh and creamy palate with a noticeable tear on the glass, since it is rather glycerine rich. Wine Folley Page 360: A very rich wine that is often stored in oak barrels. It pairs best with subtle spiced foods. Creamy/buttery foods are great options. There are hints of yellow apple, starfruit, pineapple, vanilla, and butter. France, the United States, and Australia are the largest producers of chardonnay. My Review: This wine had a very balanced taste. It had a good mix of sweetness, body, tannin, acidity, and alcohol. I do not normally drink chardonnays because I would rather drink a wine that has a certain character. I paired this wine with some shrimp tacos and they turned out to be good together. This wine did not turn me over, but it was one of the better chardonn

Chateau Ste Michelle

Image
Name: Chateau Ste Michelle Variety: Riesling  Country and Region: Columbia Valley, United States Year: 2020 Winery Review: Loaded with fresh Jonathan apple-flavored fruit, the sweetness is nicely balanced by the fresh, natural acids. Highlights of cinnamon and caramel add further pleasure to a wine with wide appeal. Wine Folley Page 723: This is a very sweet yet very acidic wine. This is a versatile wine, in that, the style of wine can be dry all the way to very sweet. Germany is the most important producer of this wine. It pairs well with spicy Indian and Asian cuisines, especially with bacon, duck, and pork. Germany, the United States, and Australia are the largest growers of this variety. My Review: The wine that I tasted was much sweeter than other riesling wines I have had in the past. This wine was quite nice, it went down well and the taste was not too overpowering. I paired this wine with a buffet style meal. It paired the best with the curry and shrimp dishes in my opinion.

Félix Solís Orquestra

Image
Name: Félix Solís Orquestra Variety: Merlot Country and Region: Castilla, Spain Year: 2019 Winery Review: It has complex aromas of plum and black cherry. The palate is rich and well defined, with soft tannins that contribute to enhance this elegant and well balanced wine. Wine Foley Page 565: Merlot contains black cherry flavors, supple tannins, and smokey chocolate. It tastes good when paired with pork shoulders, roasted mushrooms, or braised short ribs. There are also other hints including plum, dried herbs, and vanilla. It is grown primarily in France. My review: I was not a huge fan of this wine. It had an extremely pungent smell, and did not go down the throat very easily. It was way too acidic for me. I tried this wine with aged salami as well as a classic alfredo dish, and they did not pair very well. The chocolate and cherry flavors were very prominent in this wine. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Viña Morena

Image
Name: Viña Morena Variety: Tempranillo Country and Region: Castilla, Spain Year: 2020 Winery Review: Rosado Tempranillo from Vinã Morena is a darker rosé wine from southern Spain. It is a medium light and semi-dry rosé with a fresh and half sweet taste. It is easy to drink and has notes of strawberry and fresh red fruit. Enjoy it at 6-8 ° C with fish, poultry or salads. Serve it as a welcome drink for small aperitifs on a hot summer day in the company of good friends. Wine Foley Page 816: This is one of Spain’s best wine. This type of wine ages in oak barrels for 20 or more years, which is why it is more expensive. It is a bold wine, and pairs well with steak, a rack of lamb, and burgers. There are hints of cedar, tobacco, dill, and cherry. My review: I really liked this wine. It had a distinct flavor, maybe because I tried it while on vacation. This was my first time having a wine of this specific grape. Luckily we tried this wine at a steakhouse, and I must say it paired perfectly.

The Dreaming Tree Crush Red Blend

Image
Name: The Dreaming Tree Crush Red Blend Variety: Varietal Red Blend Country and Region: Central Coast, California Year: 2020 Winery Review: A blend of the North Coast's finest varieties, this wine has some great caramel oak and mixed berry characters on the nose, juicy raspberry flavors, and approachable tannins. Wine Foley Page 287: This is primarily a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This is an excellent blend to pair with steaks and other meaty dishes. It is important to keep the seasonings simple- salt and pepper. There is high tannin and body in this blend. There are hints of chocolate, graphite, and black cherry. My review: This wine was one of the more tannic wines that I have tasted. It gave me a burning sensation so I was not a huge fan. I did not pair it with a meal because I could not stand the taste. I would not recommend this wine to a friend.

Vintner's Reserve Riesling

Image
N ame: Vintner's Reserve Riesling Variety: Riesling Country and Region: Monterey County, California Year: 2020 Winery Review: Deliciously crisp with vibrant fruit aromas and subtle spice notes. Layers of apricot, peach and Anjou pear intermingle with bursts of aromatic jasmine delivering a delightful finish to this Vintner's Reserve Riesling. Wine Foley Page 722: This is a versatile grape. It can be used to make wines that range from dry to sweet. Germany is the most important producer of this variety. It pairs well with Spicy West Asian Cuisine. It is perfectly suited with pork, bacon, shrimp, and crab. There are hints of lime, green apple, beeswax, and petroleum.  My review: This was my first time trying a Riesling wine. It went down the throat quite easily. Despite having a very pungent scent. I drank this wine with some pork chops and they paired quite well. I would recommend this wine to a friend.

luccio luscious wine

Image
Name: luccio luscious wine Variety: Sangiovese Country and Region: Piedmont, Italy Year: 2019 Winery Revie w: Luccio Luscious Red is delightfully sweet with juicy flavors of cherry and strawberry, with balanced acidity and a soft, smooth finish. Wine Foley Page 744: This is Italy’s most planted grape, and the taste differs based on where it grows due to its high sensitivity. It is very acidic and tannic which makes it pairing with peppery dishes ideal. It has hints of roasted tomato, cherry, and oregano. My review: This wine was also pretty unique because it was a grape variety that I am not too familiar with. It tasted fairly acidic and was not very pleasant in the mouth. Like wine folly said, it did pair with a smoked and peppered chicken dish pretty well. This is not a wine that I would have by itself.
