Félix Solís Orquestra

Name: Félix Solís Orquestra

Variety: Merlot

Country and Region: Castilla, Spain

Year: 2019

Winery Review: It has complex aromas of plum and black cherry. The palate is rich and well defined, with soft tannins that contribute to enhance this elegant and well balanced wine.

Wine Foley Page 565: Merlot contains black cherry flavors, supple tannins, and smokey chocolate. It tastes good when paired with pork shoulders, roasted mushrooms, or braised short ribs. There are also other hints including plum, dried herbs, and vanilla. It is grown primarily in France.

My review: I was not a huge fan of this wine. It had an extremely pungent smell, and did not go down the throat very easily. It was way too acidic for me. I tried this wine with aged salami as well as a classic alfredo dish, and they did not pair very well. The chocolate and cherry flavors were very prominent in this wine. I would not recommend this to a friend.
