Artie Review

Name: Artie

Variety: Pinot Grigio

Country and Region: Vino d’Italia, Italy

Year: 2019

Winery Review: Meet Artie Pinot Grigio, a delicious white waiting to make your acquaintance. A smooth Italian Pinot Grigio singing with zesty citrus and lush stone fruit, Artie makes an easy-going companion for a variety of casual fare and fun.

Wine Folly Page 667: This grape is a pink grape mutation from Pinot Noir. This is a versatile wine since it is used in the making of sweet to dry wines. This wine pairs well with white meats, seafood, and food with a hint of fruity flavor (for example a zesty lemon linguine dish). This grape has a shelf life between 1 and 5 years and should be kept in rather cooler rooms. Italy is the largest grower of this grape, with the United States and Germany as close runner ups.

My Review: I have never really been a fan of white wine in general, however this wine had the perfect balance of fruitiness and dryness. I paired this wine with a shrimp scampi dish and it was one of my favorite wine and food pairings ever. The wine went down my throat fairly easily with minimal aftertaste. I would definitely buy this wine again and recommend it.
