Vino Orquestra Review

Name: Vino Orquestra

Variety:  Merlot

Region and Country: Land of Castile, Spain

Year: 2020

Winery Review: Intense red color with complex aromas of plum and ripe cherries. On the palate it is rich, frank, with soft tannins that stand out in this elegant and balanced wine.

Wine Folly Page 565: Merlot has a strong black cherry and chocolate/smoky flavor. It is served well alongside pork chops, short ribs, or mushrooms. It is most commonly grown in France, with Italy and the United States following. It is spent in the cellar between 5-20 years.

My Review: I paired this wine with short ribs, steak, and grilled vegetables. Between the 3 sides, it definitely went best with the short ribs. The short ribs gave a sweet barbeque flavor while the wine gave a slight acidic taste, which seemed to balance quite well. The wine went down the throat quite well, definitely better than some other red wines I have had in the past.
